The Glitter Guide!
I’m so excited to announce that I’ve joined The Glitter Guide team! The Glitter Guide will be a free weekly newsletter and daily website focusing on all things feminine, sparkly and inspirational in fashion, beauty, health, food and more. Taylor Sterling, of Sterling Style is the founder of The Glitter Guide and I recently had the opportunity to interview her about this exciting new project. Make sure to sign up for The Glitter Guide here and find tons of beauty and inspiration over on our Tumblr site here.
What inspired you to start The Glitter Guide?
I was tired of my full time office job and was ready to start something on my own. I love Sterling Style, but I felt like there was going to be a point where the blog became stagnant. I wanted to create something that was less about me and more about the readers. I also wanted to share more and create something that showed my passion for delightful and chic finds. I plan to continue Sterling Style as long as it brings me happiness. But, The Glitter Guide is what I plan to grow old with.
What’s your definition of a glitter girl?
To me a glitter girl is a woman who practices “Joie de vivre” (joy of life). She is positive and outgoing, she has a thirst for knowledge and is always looking for a new book, restaurant, trend and style to try. She loves to entertain and isn’t afraid to be daring. She drinks champagne with every meal, wears bright colored lips, and feels naked without some sparkle. She’s a taste-maker, but isn’t a show off.
Is The Glitter Guide going to be like Matchbook, Rue or any of the new online publications?
The Glitter Guide is similar to a fashion/lifestyle news site (like Who What Wear or Daily Candy), but with elements of a online magazine. We will have daily updates where we share delightful and chic finds, tips, and favorites, but we also want to spotlight amazing artists. We will have exciting photo shoots, videos, and other interesting collaborations with brands, artists, designers, and even some bloggers. I like to think of it as the best of both worlds. You get the intimacy of a blog, but with the excitement and pizazz of a magazine.
