5 Ways To Make Your Monday Better

Getting out of bed on Monday can be tough. Even though I love my work and I don’t have to get out the door everyday at the same time I still find myself dreading Mondays. I think most of us can say the same. A few weeks ago I decided to try and make an effort to have a more positive outlook come Monday and came up with a few ways to do so!

    1. Make a to-do list and schedule for the week ahead on Friday (or Sunday night…). Knowing the immediate tasks I have to get done as soon as I open my laptop helps kick start the week gives me a sense of ease on Sunday night. Don’t put too much on your list for Monday that’s not an immediate task so you don’t feel overwhelmed.

    2. Plan something to look forward to during the week. Even if it’s as simple as an indulgent meal on a Wednesday night (cheeseburgers & homemade sweet potato fries are really doing it for me right now) or planning a happy hour with friends. I find if there’s at least something on my schedule that I’m really anticipating it helps me get through my Monday.

    3. Keep your Monday’s open. I read about this on Meg Biram’s blog (I think) and I try to do it as much as I can. I don’t set any meetings or calls on Monday and especially avoid scheduling big projects or shoots. It allows me to 1- really prepare for the week and 2- not dread Monday because I have a big task to worry about.

    4. Wear an outfit you love. It may sound silly, but I never feel better heading out the door than when I’m wearing something I am comfortable and confident in.

    5. Get up a little early. There’s nothing like starting your Monday rushed. Even if you aren’t a morning person you’ll enjoy a few extra minutes before you begin the week. Take a long, hot shower. Have an extra cup of coffee. It’s a great way to ease back into your work week.
